Drawings and studies were made to create this church furnishing in harmony with the 17th century altarpiece classed by the Historical Monuments Society.

This altarpiece, very characteristic of its period, has ornamentation and figures that we have reproduced for the creation of the new Altar and choir gallery.

The techniques we used are the same as those used in the 17th century. They were carried out in the same vein, the same manner:
. Assembly of the case in equal parts of wood, glued and nailed(1).
. The taking of the dimensions and imprints was carried out scrupulously in respect for the style (ornamental beading, cherub heads (2), acanthus leaves (3), figurines, leaf and flower foliage.
. Linden and alder wood planks (4) are machine fashioned. Linden for the central sculpture, the figures and the cherubs, the alder for the flower and acanthus sculpture.

. White coating covers the woodwork and sculptures (7 to 12 successive coats of rabbit skin glue and whiting).
. A fine sanding was necessary to obtain an extremely smooth surface to receive the gold plate and the genuine gold leaf burnished with agate.

. The polychromy was done in the tonalities of the altarpiece's old figurines (blue-tinted background, faces and hands).
. The aspect of new is obviously present next to the old altarpiece, nonetheless, we mustn't forget that this latter needs preservation and restoration which is bound to give it an aspect very close to the Altar and Choir gallery.
